Ski Trip 2017 Canceled

Important Announcement regarding Ski Trip to Wilmot Mountain on 2/25: Unfortunately, the Ski Trip we have been planning for this weekend has been canceled due to the weather. Please read a note from the Event Chairs below:

Assalamu ‘Alaikum,

We hope everyone is enjoying a taste of the spring weather. The weather is bittersweet, as the extended warmth has impeded our ability to keep our reservation this weekend (February 25, 2017) at Wilmot Mountain for the Annual Ski Trip.

We have made the decision to postpone the outing and may not have the opportunity to reschedule for this winter or early spring. We will keep everyone posted if we find a date and matching weather for a great experience. Otherwise, we will look to reschedule the event for next winter.

If you have already signed-up for this trip, we will coordinate a refund process. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We look forward to making this event happen and enjoy getting families together for a blast in the snow.

Event Chairs: Azeem Mohamed and Adnan Arain.

Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Sunday, February 26th. Because teachers will be meeting during their non-teaching hours on Sunday, there are limited slots available. Parents are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. If none of the times available work for you, please email your child’s teachers to set up a phone conference.

Salaam Parents,

Please be reminded that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be on Sunday, December 4th after Thanksgiving Break (there is no school this Sunday, November 27). There will be a full day of classes for students and teachers will be available to meet with parents for 10 minutes during their non-teaching hours. Because of the limited spots, we highly urge you to sign-up for a conference with your child’s teachers as soon as possible!

Salaam Parents,

We hope to see you all this Sunday, September 18th at 10 AM for Parent Orientation. During orientation, you will receive a paper copy of our 2016-2017 Student/Parent Handbook. It is important that both parents and students carefully read over and sign the handbook. For parents who will be unable to attend, you can find an electronic version here.

If you have not registered for Sunday School yet, don’t delay! REGISTER TODAY!

Salaam Parents,

We hope you are ready for the new year to begin! Please be reminded that there will be a mandatory Parent Orientation this coming Sunday, September 18th at 10 AM at Kindi Academy. There will be no classes for children that day, though your children are welcome to attend with you on the 18th. The first day of classes for children will be on the following Sunday, September 25th.

If you have not registered yet, please be sure to REGISTER TODAY!

If you have any questions about Orientation, please email Principal Alia Hirzalla.

During the Teacher Training meeting held on Sunday, September 4th, our Sunday School teachers were introduced to our new Arabic/Qur’an program called Al-Bidaya.

Al-Bidaya means “The Beginning.” This program will teach students how to read to the Qur’an with correct pronunciation. It is designed for all educational levels and age groups. It has been described as easy, fun, and well-paced. Ten Islamic Schools – including Aqsa school – have already incorporated al-Bidaya into their curriculum.

Please watch the following testimonial videos from former students to learn how the Bidaya program helped them.

If you have any questions about our Arabic/Qur’an curriculum, please email Principal Alia Hirzalla at alia@mohammedwebb.org.
