KG/1 Arabic Class Update

As usual we started out the day by asking the children in Arabic what their names were. We asked Maismuka (for boys) and Maismukee (for girls).

We then transitioned to Quran. Because we have a wide arrange of different skill level, we have split the children into two groups. Each child was given a hand out with the surah they are reviewing! This can be found in their folder.

This week we introduced the children to the letter Ha. Ha is a hard H sound from deep within the throat. We also told the children Ha is the sister of Jeem. The children learned words such as Hoot (whale) and Hesan (horse). To interact with the children, we brought a stick horse and whale that they could play with. We spent the rest of the class period coloring.

Please work on the worksheet sent home with your child! MANY STUDENT ARE NOT BRINGING THEIR HOMEWORK BACK. The worksheets are intended to be worked on throughout the week so the child can become acquainted with the letters and their shapes. Children who bring back the homework fully completed next week will receive a prize for their hard work.

Inshallah I will see you next Sunday,

Lama Sharaf
